New name. New look. Still naked.
We recently rebranded from Naked Sprout to Naked Paper. Same great paper, just a new name and a new look. Read more about our rebrand on our blog.
B Corp is a global movement making businesses better; more sustainable, more responsible, and more transparent. To get certified, companies go through a rigorous assessment measuring their impact on workers, customers, communities, and the environment.
We first became a B Corp in 2021 with a score of 128.4. In 2024, we passed our second assessment with an impact score of 148.1. We are the highest rated B Corp in our sector.
Tissue products should be simple. Unfortunately, most aren’t. Standard toilet rolls are packed with harsh chemicals like bleach, formaldehyde, BPA, and PFAS (the "forever chemicals" you don’t want anywhere near your skin).
They also come at a huge environmental cost; over 27,000 trees are cut down every single day to make toilet roll. That’s about 9 million a year. On top of that, drying tissue pulp requires a lot of heat, most of which comes from fossil fuels. The result is a massive climate footprint for something that's used once before being thrown or flushed away.
We keep things simple. Our toilet rolls are free from bleach, harsh chemicals, and plastic.
Most toilet rolls rely on fossil fuels for manufacturing, and bleach for whiteness. Some even come individually wrapped (which looks nice but adds a lot of unnecessary bleach, dyes, and packaging). We do things differently:
We donate toilet rolls to food banks and community organisations across the UK, helping to provide essential supplies to those in need.
Every year, we commit at least 2% of our revenue to charitable causes.
Nope! We don’t take food from pandas' plates. The bamboo we use isn’t the type they eat.
Bamboo is actually brilliant for biodiversity. Unlike farmed trees, bamboo grows in huge natural forests and can be harvested without replanting; making it a smarter, more sustainable choice.
We also offer recycled toilet paper made from waste cardboard boxes and kraft paper sourced near our factory.
We’re constantly finding ways to do improve. Here’s some ways we are reducing climate footprint:
We’re also working with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) to set and meet ambitious climate goals. We’ve committed to reaching net-zero by 2040 - making us the first UK toilet roll brand to do so.
Yes you can calculate the CO2 and chemicals you are saving using our carbon calculator here
We do not have any businesses or subsidiaries in China. Our products are manufactured in a B Corp certified tissue factories in Spain. All employees are paid at least a living wage.
Yes we do. We are committed to measuring, reporting and improving our emissions - and have a net-zero target set for 2040 approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). The SBTi is a global partnership bringing together CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute and the WWF.
They create models to define and promote the best practice in emissions reduction, in line with the best climate science. We have calculated our emissions according to guidance from the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
Our 2023 calculations are the 3 scopes are:
Scope 1: 0 tonnes c02e
Scope 2: 2.70 tonnes c02e
Scope 3: 3127.97 tonnes c02e
We are taking steps based on guidance from the SBTi to further reduce these emissions each year, until our we reach our net-zero target.
All of our products are manufactured using solar, wind, hydro and biomass energy, in the world's highest rated B Corp tissue factory in Spain. Both products are delivered in recycled and recyclable cardboard boxes without the use of tape and using polymer free, vegan glue. All artwork is printed with soy ink too. None of our products use harsh chemicals and our toilet rolls and kitchen rolls are ISEGA certified "food safe" (not that we'd recommend eating them).
Here are the main differences between our bamboo and recycled products:
Raw materials
Our bamboo comes from FSC-certified forests in China, where the bamboo is grown, harvested, and pulped. The pulp is dried and baled in China, and these bales are transported by sea freight to Europe. Our recycled cardboard and kraft paper is from post consumer waste collected kerbside in Spain, collected from within 85km of our factory.
Chemicals / Bleach
Our bamboo is unbleached and not chemically whitened in any way - meaning it is soft and kind to skin. Our recycled paper is also unbleached and because it's made with waste cardboard and paper packaging materials it makes brown rolls, with no de-inking required.
Climate footprint
Our recycled toilet paper has the lowest climate footprint; 0.38kg CO2e per 1kg, compared to 0.65kg CO2e per 1kg for our bamboo toilet paper. You can how this breaks down here.
Thanks to our fossil fuel free manufacturing, both types of toilet roll produce at least significantly less CO2e than other eco brands (including recycled made in the UK and other bamboo toilet rolls manufactured in China).
We don't currently have sample or trial boxes but we offer a full refund guarantee so if you buy a box and aren't satisfied for any reason you can get in touch with us and we'll process a refund.
You can also buy smaller 6 roll packs of toilet rolls and individual tissues boxes via Ocado if you happen to shop with them.
Yes, and they already are recycled. Our packaging and roll cores are made from recycled materials, and they’re ready to be recycled again.
Because it’s unnecessary. Fancy wrapping might look nice, but it adds packaging, dyes, and extra road miles. Plus, most paper wraps are made from virgin tree pulp, which we don’t use.
We like the natural brown colour of our rolls made from bamboo or recycled materials, with no frills and no waste.
In Girona, Spain, at one of the world’s only B Corp-certified tissue factories.
Our factory runs on renewables and we minimise greenhouse gas emissions through our supply and transport chain. Keeping emissions from the start of making our products means we don't need to rely on carbon offsetting at the end.
It’s tricky to compare because there’s no standard sheet count for toilet rolls. But here’s what we can say:
We avoid air freight (the worst for emissions). Instead, our bamboo travels by road and sea, and our recycled materials are sourced within 85km of our factory. We’re also moving more transport to electrified rail, cutting emissions even further.
We deliver to our customers with DPD, who are upgrading their distribution network with a wide-ranging portfolio of sustainability initiatives, with 37% of their delivery fleet consisting of electric vehicles as of 2025.
Yes! Our toilet paper is regularly tested to make sure breaks down like any other, and since it’s unbleached and free of harsh chemicals, it’s safe for compost toilets, septic tanks, boats, and campervans.
If you try it and have any issues, let us know—we offer a full refund guarantee.
Yes, 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
Yes. Bamboo is naturally soft, strong, and antibacterial, making it a great choice for sensitive skin. And the benefits that apply to our bamboo rolls are also true for our recycled rolls; there’s no harsh chemicals, no bleach, and no PFAS to worry about.

First and foremost - our carbon footprint is significantly lower than other eco brands. This is mainly because we use renewable energy generated on site at our factory to manufacture our products. We also don't bleach or wrap our rolls.
We have provided an extensive comparison of how our rolls compare with other eco brands on our evidence page.
