Tales from outside the loo

One of the best things about running Naked Paper is when we get to see pictures of our bleach free toilet rolls, and the boxes they come in, out there in the wild.

We recently received this email from our lovely customer Elizabeth, which came with some lovely pictures of guinea pigs and a question. 

“Dear Naked Paper

I thought you would like to see how we re-purpose / recycle your
boxes. They become hidey holes, lookouts, snuggly beds for our
4 rescue guinea pigs.

I wonder if any of your other customers reuse in an unusual way? “

Elizabeth, we’re glad you asked. Over the summer we heard tales of tired pigeons, pampered cats, and rainbow guitars. Here’s the latest from our inbox. 

A rest for weary wings

First up a story that led to much cooing in the Naked Paper team, a picture of an intrepid pigeon sent in courtesy of Lotte. 

“Just a few nice photos of your box being used to house a rescue injured racing pigeon! 

This little chap was caught by a hawk and then flew across the Bristol channel to North Devon where my daughter picked him up on the coast path, injured and a bit confused and very dehydrated. 

She brought him home and we rang his owners number which was on a ring on his ankle and they are arranging a collection for him, in the meantime this is the perfect size shape etc for his house!”

What a stroke of good fortune that this little chap came across Lotte and her family after such a long journey. A bed, a drink, and a rest in a comfy box before grabbing a lift home. What more could a weary traveller want?  

Rainbow reading to the beat 

Next up an incredible creation out of one of our tissue boxes, sent in by Emma. 

“Herewith a recycled Naked Paper Tissue Box guitar made at a Tiger Monkey UK Ltd art workshop that I thought you would like to see. It was made as part of 'Read to the Beat' Reading Challenge during Tiger Monkey’s summer workshops with libraries in East Sussex.”

Isn’t it fantastic? You can tell from the explosion of colours how much fun everyone was having in that workshop. Plus now we can add “doubles up as a guitar” to our product specs for our tissues, so everyone’s happy. 

If they fits, they sits

We love all animals at Naked Paper but we’ve got to admit that cats tend to lead the field when it comes to customer pictures, because they fit very neatly into our boxes. And if you’ve ever lived with a cat, you know fitting neatly into boxes is serious business, as demonstrated in the above picture of the goregous Sinnamon, sent in by Jo Ann. 

We use the slogan “Soft where it counts. Uncompromising where it matters” to describe our bleach-free toilet paper, but from the looks of things it applies to Sinnamon as well. 

And while we’re on cats we’ll also take the opportunity to highlight the fantastic lounge-work of Alice and Nich’s feline housemate Dashi. 

“Just thought you’d like to know that our cat Dashi absolutely loves Naked Paper - more specifically the box it comes in! I just found him sleeping inside and wanted to share the photo!”

We particularly appreciate the fact that Dashi hasn’t waited for the box to be emptied before letting himself in for a snooze. As is his right. 

Eclipse magic

Finally for this update, a picture that came in the day after the solar eclipse of August 2026 and had us all over the moon. 

“I thought you might like to see one of our eclipse photos from last night.
My husband made a pinhole camera out of a cardboard box and the back end of his binoculars. It was only this morning I noticed the box is one of yours!”

It's everything we love about our community in an image; curious and resourceful souls who are ready to enjoy the wonders of nature with whatever they have to hand.
